The Story Behind Solamente

We were drawn to American Clay because of the beauty and natural properties of its clay plaster. It was a green product we could believe in. We already understood the importance of craftsmanship and how to work with natural materials. What we saw in American Clay was an extraordinary material with possibilities we knew we could bring to life.

One spring morning on a hike we stopped to sit on a boulder, enjoy the view when Kent said,"I would like to start a company to apply natural clay plaster and do it well.” Sally replied," If we do this, I have an entire palette of colors in my head with natural mineral pigments."

And that was the beginning of Solamente Natural Plaster. The goal was never to simply apply a product. It was to do it exceptionally well - to understand the materials, develop beautiful colors, and create finished walls with the depth, movement and character that natural plaster makes possible. 20 years and over 1,000,000 sq ft later the goal is still the same.

Solamente natural Plaster is a certified American Clay applicator. We are applicators of pure Lime Plaster finishes. We developed a clay/lime combination, ClayCrete. We are also experienced applicators of Tadelakt, a waterproof, no grout finish for wet areas.
